The all-new 2017 Nissan Qashqai, pronounced Cash-Kai, is a sub-compact sport utility vehicle that has been available in Europe for a long time now. This spring it will finally makes its way to this side of the Atlantic where it will slot between the Nissan Juke and the popular Nissan Rouge in the complete range of Nissan SUVs.
The 2017 Nissan Qashqai has a lot to offer, there is no doubt about that! Here are five things to know about the new Nissan Qashqai SUV.
The 2017 Nissan Qashqai will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine developing 141 horsepower and 147 lb.-ft. of torque. This engine will be offered with either a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT XTronic continuously variable transmission. A Sport mode, as well as an ECO mode that aims to make it more fuel efficient will be offered.
Despite its compact dimensions, the 2017 Nissan Qashqai will be very spacious. Indeed, it will offer 648 liters of cargo space with all seats in place, and up to 1,730 liters with the rear seat down. The Divide-N-Hide system is also available.
The 2017 Nissan Qashqai offers a dynamic silhouette and a spacious and modern cockpit developed under the "Gliding Wing" philosophy. The latter offers an open and vast cockpit that also gives the impression of being intimate. The Nissan Qashqai will be offered with a choice of 10 exterior colors and the high-end versions will be equipped with 19-inch wheels.
Equipped with what Nissan calls its intelligent safety shield, the 2017 Nissan Qashqai will be offered with a lot of safety equipment such as emergency braking with pedestrian detection, intelligent cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert and an emergency braking system.
Depending on the version, the Nissan Qasqai will be equipped with leather seats, a sunroof, dual zone air conditioning, SiriusXM satellite radio, navigation system, 7.0-inch touch screen, heated steering wheel, a rearview camera with perimeter vision, NissanConnect, remote starter and much more.
